HOMETOWN St. Paul HEAT FACTOR Whether you're talking about his giant movies (Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down) or his strapping 6'3'' frame, you don't get much bigger than Josh Hartnett. And this summer he teams up with another megawatt star, Harrison Ford, as an LAPD detective investigating the murder of a rap group in Hollywood Homicide (June 13).

SECOND OPINION "My 12-year-old daughter and her girlfriends refer to him as Josh 'Hot-nett,'" says Harrison. "He's huge. I used to be huge."

MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD "I ran around naked as a kid," says Josh. "We used to go up to the lake, and my dad, who bought me a guitar when I was little, used to play around the campfire. It was very wholesome."

RAP LOVER "I listen to basically anything: Jay-Z, Dr. Dre. When I was a kid I [liked] Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys."

BIGGEST REGRET Skipping college when his career took off. Says Josh: "I missed that four years of freedom to be a kid and screw up and learn."

BLOCKBUSTER BEGINNINGS Before he started acting in high school, he worked in a video store. "I'd take home three or four films a night," Josh recalls. "You go, That sucks, that sucks, that sucks....' Then when you've been in [the business] and you start working on movies, you realize, 'God, it's hard to make a really brilliant film. It's almost impossible.'"

GIRL TALK "Women are a mystery," says Josh, who dates his high school girlfriend, Ellen Fenster, 24. "But it's a lot more fun to go to work with a beautiful, intelligent, exciting woman than a bunch of middle-aged men."

FIRST CRUSH "Kim Basinger, when I was 12."

TURN-ON Personality. "If a girl doesn't have a sense of humor, then what would you have to talk about?"
