Josh Hartnett PSA video for Horn of Africa Crisis
October 26th, 2011 | Posted by Annie

A new PSA campaign to spread awareness of the crisis in the Horn of Africa is being launched today by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Ad Council. The multimedia campaign, created by R/GA, is called “FWD”– for famine, war and drought — to encourage people to “FWD” the message to their friends.

The effort asks Americans to support humanitarian organizations with relief operations and to learn more about solutions through President Obama’s Feed the Future global initiative to combat hunger and provide food security.

The Horn of Africa is suffering from the worst drought it’s seen in six decades, which combined with other factors has resulted in famine. More than 13 million people across the eastern Horn of Africa now need emergency assistance to survive, and tens of thousands of people have died. However, according to a national survey released today by the Ad Council and conducted online by Harris Interactive among 2,226 U.S. adults age 18 and older in September, 52% of the general public say that they have not seen, heard, or read anything about the drought and famine.

TV spots and Web ads feature Dr. Jill Biden and actors Uma Thurman, Josh Hartnett, Geena Davis and Chanel Iman. The campaign will also be engaging high-profile athletes and celebrity chefs such as Lance Armstrong and Anthony Bourdain. The effort includes a social media program through USAID’s Facebook and Twitter channels, plus blogs and other websites.

The campaign asks viewers to text “Give” to 777444 to donate $10 to a consortium of humanitarian organizations working in the Horn of Africa, comprised of American Refugee Committee, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Mercy Corps, Save the Children, UNICEF USA, World Vision and World Food Program USA. Audiences are also directed to www.usaid.gov/FWD for more information about the crisis and a listing of U.S.-funded humanitarian organizations working in the Horn of Africa.

The campaign is also being supported by corporate, media and nongovernmental organizations, including Cargill, General Mills and PepsiCo. General Mills will match the first 2,000 text donations that come through the FWD campaign.

DVD outsider did an awesome interview with Josh at the Ischia Film Festival. Josh talks mainly about “I Come with the Rain”, working with Tran Anh Hung and he discusses his deciding factors in choosing roles. It’s a more serious interview about his career choices and his thoughts about directors and the film industry. A great watch and a lot of new stuff that he shares.

You can choose to watch the interview on YOUTUBE here or you can download the video to your computer by clicking on the thumbnail below.

Note: If you are watching it on Youtube, remember to check out both part 1 and 2 of the interview.

Sin City Lego Opening Scene
July 27th, 2010 | Posted by Annie

I found this today and it’s pretty cool. Jettemalow made a lego version of the opening scene of “Sin City”, but the voice-over is from the point of view of the lady not the Salesman (Josh’s character). Watch it below:

You can the original film version with Josh HERE ON YOUTUBE or you can DOWNLOAD it onto your computer here. If you want to see more screencaptures of Josh in Sin City, click on the picture below! Rofl, Josh looks so young.

I also really like watching the original green-screen version of this clip. So, if you are interested in that, click on the image below to view on Youtube, alternatively, if you want to download it to your computer, click here.

An utterly fangirl post
July 25th, 2010 | Posted by Annie

I was just bumming around on my fave site, Youtube and I stumbled upon Josh’s Lucky Number Slevin trailer. Damn, how much I missed those days of Josh lol! I had totally forgotten how great fun that movie was. I’ll have to re-watch it soon. Anyways, my main point of writing this post is to share with you guys 2 of Josh’s old interviews. You guys have probably seen them before, but what the hell, they are both funny and a great watch. So what are you waiting for?? Watch away!

This one is Josh’s interview back in 2008 on GMTV when he was playing Charlie Babbit in “Rainman” on West End, London. He talks about the play, the large amount of dialogue to remember and about crazy English tabloids. Click below to watch on Youtube or you can download it onto your computer here.

And more hotness below… this interview is way back in 2004 when he was promoting “Wicker Park” on the Jonathan Ross show. I couldn’t help smiling throughout the entire interview. Josh talks about a bunch of stuff… Harrison Ford, his height, his fears, his disappointment in Pearl Harbour and his ‘then’ new movie Wicker Park. Click below to watch the interview on Youtube or you can download it here.

LOL! I just realized both of these interviews where from the UK. It was not intentional, but I do luv the Brits. I wish Josh was on West End when I visited London a few months ago. Sigh.

Anyways, my conclusion is that Josh must do more interviews on talk shows. Bunraku better come out soon and the publicity and marketing team better work hard to promote it!

Cameo or no?
December 9th, 2009 | Posted by Annie

According to this site, Josh is supposed to have a cameo in Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” video. I’ve watched the video twice and really really strained my eyes looking for Josh’s scene but I failed. Can you guys?

FYI: Actor Josh Hartnett cameos in the video and produced it.

I however did spot Josh’s bud, Scott Campbell at around 3:34…

Here are pics of Josh and Scott pictured together at the “Make it rain” reception & After party:

For those who are just as confused as I am about who this Scott Campbell is, well, I did a bit of ‘googling’ and he is an illustrator and is currently most known for his tattoo parlour called Saved Tattoo in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which is “east coast’s premier tattoo shop” and very popular amongst celebrities. Cool.

Anyways, the music video is now on HD on youtube, so check it out! [Search for the Hartnett]

Kid Cudi’s Pursuit of Happiness MV
December 8th, 2009 | Posted by Annie

Josh produced Kid Cudi’s new mv for “Pursuit of Happiness” which features MGMT and Ratatat. The video is directed by Brody Baker who also directed Animal Collective’s My Girl.

Kid Cudi’s released the video for “Pursuit of Happiness” — his collab with Ratatat and MGMT. The clip, directed by Brody Baker (Animal Collective’s “My Girls”) is basically one extended, slow-mo champagne jam — featuring the Man on the Moon MC rapping his narcoleptic verses while a room full of pretty young couture-wearing things guzzle bubbly and occasionally spray the hot chicks with Dom like they’re NASCAR winners.

Cudi recently told MTV about the shoot. “We were just kicking it. When you see the video, it just makes me feel good, because I’m seeing all my friends and people that matter in my life,” he said. We’re sure the free-flowing bubbly also contributed to the GTs. “We were all celebrating. It’s like a New Year’s Eve-type thing. Everybody’s just getting wasted.” Theory confirmed.

And according to Rolling Stone, Cudi could be planning to film an afterparty, as well. The mag reports that the rapper is considering making a second video for the song — and this time MGMT and Ratatat will be invited.
