| Trivia |
+ Josh Hartnett signed on after Paul Walker was forced to drop out due to complications with the filming of 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003).
+ At one point, Brendan Fraser was set to star and Joel Schumacher was set to direct.
+ Freddie Prinze Jr. was also considered for the role of Matt.
+ The restaurant, where Matthew overhears Lisa talking on the telephone, is called "Bellucci". Monica Bellucci was the female lead in the French original Appartement, L' (1996), of which this film is a remake.
+ Refers to Vertigo (1958)
+ Refers to 8 1/2 (1963) - Mentioned in a dialogue between Matt and
Lisa. |
| Goofs and Mistakes |
+ Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Matt tells
Luke he has to go to a funeral, his mouth doesn't match what he's saying.
+ Continuity: Matt shakes three sleeping pills into his hand, but in
the next shot, there is only one
+ Factual errors: There is never a vent between a restroom and
another room - especially not in restaurant.
+ Continuity: When Matt and Lisa are making love for the first time,
Lisa takes off Matt's shirt and in the next shot Matt is wearing his shirt.
+ Continuity: When Matt is in Lisa's apartment and Alex is pretending
to be Lisa, Alex sits down on the couch while Matt was sleeping. When she
goes to kiss Matt as he is lying on the couch, he is wearing a white
t-shirt. When he sits up to kiss her in the next shot, he is not wearing a
shirt.
+ Miscellaneous: On the card that Luke gave Matthew, the number for
Dragon Lady Shoes was 555 0123. However, when Lisa calls (and Matthew's in
the shower) you can see the number on the painted windows of the shop, and
it clearly states the number 555 0142 (or 555 0145). This is not the same as
the card number.
+ Continuity: When Matt is introduced to Alex at Bellucci's he takes
off his jacket and in the next shot takes off his jacket again. |
| Quotes |
| + Matthew: When you see something from afar, you
develop a fantasy. But when you see it up close, 9 times out of 10, you wish
you hadn't. + Matthew: What are you doing?
Alex: Watching you sleep. + Rafe: Not anxious to die sir, just anxious to matter.
+ Matthew: What would you do?
Luke: I'd keep both of them and hope they don't find out about each
other.
+ Alex: Love makes you do crazy things, insane things. Things in a
million years you'd never see yourself do. But there you are doing them...
can't help it.
+ Matthew: Things don't have to be extraordinary to be beautiful,
Even the ordinary can be beautiful.
+ Matthew: I needed you to know.
Rebecca: Know what? Know what, Matthew? That I'm not the girl who can
break your heart?
+ Lisa: Take my picture. I'm feeling beautiful tonight.
+ Lisa: Take my picture. I'm feeling beautiful tonight.
+ Alex: You want a cup of coffee?
Matthew: Yeah, sure. Thanks.
Alex: [rummages around in the kitchen] No. No.
No. No.
Alex: [comes back with coffee in two flutes of
champagne glasses] He broke all my cups.
Matthew: That's original. |
