And 2 more photos from the session by Jake Chessum for Glamour Magazine in 2006. Simply gorgeous!

Thanks to those who spoke up about the registration problem of the galleries. I have fixed the problem and you do NOT need to make an account to view the albums.

TIFF Bunraku
August 24th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
There are new pictures of Bunraku, however I am unable to upload them up at the moment as there are some problems with the gallery. I will fix it asap.
Anyhow, Josh will be attending the Toronto International Film Festival to promote Bunraku which will be premiered there! So excited!
And there were rumor of Josh being lined up for the film “Dancehall”. But it seems like Josh will not be doing the movie after all.
The film began shooting a few scenes this past winter in Lake Placid, and was set to continue this summer, but after casting issues, including an inability to sign Josh Hartnett, the film was delayed……
Dancehall’s plot and timeframe differ slightly from the true events; they’re only inspired by the real life disappearance of Mabel Douglass. The film is an adaptation of the novel, not the nonfiction book. It takes place in 1962, where a young woman disappears and in 1982, when her body resurfaces. Hartnett would have played David Powell, the film’s main character, and Burstyn will be playing Powell’s mother-in-law.

Heartthrob of darkness
August 17th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
New article written about Josh from DVD Outsiders. I posted the interview a while ago.
Sometimes the most random of coincidences are as rewarding as they are surprising. Covering the Ischia Global Film & Music Festival for the site, I was principally on hand to interview the director and star of Cairo Time (both of which you can watch here). With more than enough hours to kill between interviews, I just happened to read an article in last month’s Sight & Sound on the Blu-Ray release of Tran Anh Hung’s new film, I Come with the Rain, a day before the film’s star Josh Hartnett, arrived on the Italian island, not to plug any new films (he revealed in the press conference that he’s currently between jobs) but simply to lend the festival some star wattage and have a bit of a knees up in the process.
The ouvere of Mr Hartnett is not something you’d have an easy time connecting to our “beyond the mainstream” coverage here at DVD Outsider, but then I’d say, you’re just not looking hard enough. The eye candy of Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides and the then breakout, pin-up of teen fodder like, Halloween: H20, The Faculty and Wicker Park (a misjudged remake of L’Apartment), Josh Hartnett has been trying, in the years since Pearl Harbour, to challenge himself and his fans, by working with top flight directors like Brian DePalma and Rod Lurie, crafting infinitely more complex and conflicted characters whose agenda and actions are not always so readily understandable or all that empathetic.
August, Resurrecting the Champ and I Come with the Rain, make up a triumvirate of films that showcase Hartnett’s up till now, untapped capabilities as an actor – August in particular, as the definitive film about crooked salesmen in the new millennium, selling a false perception of themselves as well as their product.

Hartnett to Star in McGuigan’s Tomorrow
August 13th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
GUYZ!!! Josh has a new film lined up and it’s directed by………… Paul McGuigan!!
Worldview Entertainment has teamed up with producer Mark Williams and Zero Gravity Management to finance the sci-fi thriller, “Tomorrow”, which will be directed by Paul McGuigan and star Josh Hartnett. McGuigan is a renowned UK filmmaker who has directed several fan favorites, most recently the sci-fi action movie, “Push”. Hartnett has starred in several blockbuster hits over the last decade including “Pearl Harbor” with Ben Affleck and Ridley Scott’s intense war film, “Black Hawk Down”.
“Tomorrow” is a sci-fi thriller in the vein of “Memento” about a man who travels back and forth through time and space, trying to prevent the murder of his family. Written by Michael Gould, the film is scheduled to commence principal photography later this year in Louisiana. The film will be the third collaboration for McGuigan and Harnett who have previously worked together on “Lucky Number Slevin” with Bruce Willis, Lucy Liu and Morgan Freeman and “Wicker Park” with Rose Byrne and Diane Kruger.
Simon Crowe’s SC Films International will handle foreign sales.

Here is the synopsis of this sci-fi/thriller film, “Max Martin is desperate to save his family on the day of their murder but he can’t control the short-term time travel phenomenon he’s trapped in.”
Let’s be realz, I’m not gunna hide my excitement for this film. I’m a fan of time-travel movies. And another Paul McGuigan and Josh collaboration should be good (cross fingers). I lurved “Lucky Number Slevin” (it’s why this site is called Lucky Number Josh!) and I also enjoyed “Wicker Park”. And it seems to be pretty solid in terms of finance, so hope it gets a wide distribution.
The plot sounds pretty interesting too, though it seems sorta similar to some of the other time-travel/ changing history movies. I’m assuming his character is going to have trouble saving his family fast enough, who are gunna get murdered tomorrow, and he jumps back in time before he can finish. So he probs has to do it a few times to get it right (like “Groundhog Day”), or maybe he changes different parts of his life/events (like “The Butterfly Effect”), but still fails. The ‘not being able to control his time-travel’ thing reminds me of “The Time Traveler’s Wife”. Regarding to the film being similar to “Momento”, as in the non-linear narrative structure? Or that Max has memory problems so he forgets what he has been doing midway lol?
Anyways, let’s hope that it’s gunna be exciting, like… Run Lola Run. Let’s also hope that my assumptions are not entirely accurate and that “Tomorrow” will have a cool twist. Here is the promo poster…

OH! and in other news, “I Come with the Rain” will premiere in Moscow, Russia on September 2nd at the Empire Open Cinema Film Festival 2010. It’s good to see that people are still working on distributing this film, although the DVD is out already.

ICWTR interview @ ISCHIA
August 7th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
DVD outsider did an awesome interview with Josh at the Ischia Film Festival. Josh talks mainly about “I Come with the Rain”, working with Tran Anh Hung and he discusses his deciding factors in choosing roles. It’s a more serious interview about his career choices and his thoughts about directors and the film industry. A great watch and a lot of new stuff that he shares.
You can choose to watch the interview on YOUTUBE here or you can download the video to your computer by clicking on the thumbnail below.

Note: If you are watching it on Youtube, remember to check out both part 1 and 2 of the interview.

Josh’s Astrological Insights
July 30th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
Okay! I’m going to try to post more now before I start school again in a month. I’ll also do some cleaning up around the site and updating pages, so stayed tune for that! Anyways, I wanna share this analysis on Josh’s astrological sign with y’all – thought you guys might be interested. I am usually pretty cynical about all this astrological bs, but I think this reading is pretty accurate of Josh’s personality… yet, then again, I don’t know him at all, so you be the judge.
Actor Josh Hartnett, known for his roles in The Black Dahlia, Lucky Number Slevin, Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor, was born today in 1978. A Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer says he’s empathetic and family oriented. However, Moon in Aquarius gives his emotional nature an unconventional side that craves freedom. In his work, a Mercury-Saturn conjunction in Leo heightens his creativity and leadership ability. Because Saturn rules authority, this influence gives him a talent directing and producing. What’s more, Venus and Mars in Virgo indicate he’s a perfectionist.
In his personal life, the Virgo influences make Hartnett very particular when it comes to giving his heart away. Conversely, squares from Neptune indicate he’s overly idealistic about relationships. This peculiar mix spells trouble in love until he can balance the two extremes. Mainly, he likes to be needed and appreciates people who are conscientiousness, helpful, and down-to-earth. To date, he remains a bachelor.

Bunraku Trailer
July 29th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
There has been quite a lot of positive hype about “Bunraku” lately.
Luke Thompson for Deadline.com does a round-up of Comic con and the “Bunraku” trailer was shown before “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”. Here is what he wrote about the trailer:
Prior to the movie, they showed a trailer for something called BUNRAKU. Now, I’m fairly sure many of you don’t know what that means, which might be a strike against the movie; it’s a Japanese style of puppet show. The movie, however, is one of those all-greenscreen shot flicks like SIN CITY, set in a world full of primary colors and cartoony backgrounds, and a really low-rent version of the cuty-folding-up effect done better in INCEPTION. But look: Woody Harrelson, Demi Moore, Josh Hartnett, Ron Perlman in gray dreadlocks…oh, and the best acting credit ever: “and introducing Gackt.”
Yes, there’s a dude just named Gackt in this movie. And he looks like a real ass-kicker.
Source: Deadline.com
LOL about Gackt being an ass-kicker. Don’t know who Gackt is? Read his wiki page here. And some pictures to help you place who he is.
But srsly, where is this trailer?? Hopefully, it’ll come out soon. Crosses fingers

Sin City Lego Opening Scene
July 27th, 2010 | Posted by Annie |
I found this today and it’s pretty cool. Jettemalow made a lego version of the opening scene of “Sin City”, but the voice-over is from the point of view of the lady not the Salesman (Josh’s character). Watch it below:

You can the original film version with Josh HERE ON YOUTUBE or you can DOWNLOAD it onto your computer here. If you want to see more screencaptures of Josh in Sin City, click on the picture below! Rofl, Josh looks so young.

I also really like watching the original green-screen version of this clip. So, if you are interested in that, click on the image below to view on Youtube, alternatively, if you want to download it to your computer, click here.
